ABOUT KYLENE
I have spent most of my academic time at Sierra College in Rocklin, CA. During that time I was very involved with student and club affairs on campus. In addition to honors and independent study courses in mathematics, physics, and computer science, I was treasurer and then president of Sierra's Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society Chapter as well as founder and president of STEM Club. I went as far as travelling to Chicago, IL for an Honors Institute to learn about the implementations and improvements I would them make to turn our PTK chapter from one with few students to near 600 members. Later that year I was awarded PTK's All USA Academic Team (one of twenty total students chosen nationally) and Coca Cola's California New Century Transfer Pathway Scholar (one student awarded in each participating state).
After a few years of pursuing a degree in mathematics and computer science, I found that the creativity and physical problem solving of engineering was what I really enjoyed. To complete my lower division engineering coursework, I transferred to Cuesta College in San Luis Obispo, CA to seek engineering internships, opportunity, the outdoors, and ultimately hope to transfer to Cal Poly SLO for Mechanical Engineering.
I am anxious and excited to start learning in a professional setting and am currently searching for an internship for summer 2019!

Update: I am proud to announce that I have been accepted to Cal Poly SLO for ME and start fall quarter 2019!
